Some years ago, when I lived in Cuernavaca, I was part of a dance group. The team had a group for each category, and naturally, we, the "little girls" admired our older teammates. One of the best dancers in the senior team was named Andrés, who was noted for his personality and impeccable technique.
Time passed and I lost track of the great dancer, until one day, in some fashion magazine, I discovered he was now a famous fashion designer, and that as in the dance, he was noted for his personality and his art. His name? Andrés Jiménez.
In the fashion world, Andrés is known as Mancandy and he considered one of the most promising designers from Mexico. For his latest collection, Jiménez merged natural fibers and synthetic materials with contrasting colors to present pieces that evoke uniqueness and rebellion that challenges perceptions, all with the unmistakable syile of his brand that always goes against the grain.
Inspired by the struggle of a flower in the snow, as an analogy of the loneliness and melancholy that a person that lives isolated feels, Andrés designed this collection together with Designers by Kaltex program. But that was not his only collaboration; the styling of his lookbook was done by his fellow fashion designer and friend Carlos Temores.
Garments with sensual symmetry conform Flor en la nieve (Flower on Snow), the latest collection of Mancandy. The collection is on display in Another Company´s showroom, and it will be available on September 2014 on the brand´s official site.
